Social Media

I can see both sides of the story. I understand why schools are doing this because there has been way too many deaths relating to social media. People can use social media as a weapon itself. Typing mean name, bullying, threatening. People have resorted to that now since it's easier than confronting the person themselves. It's important to find a way to stop this from happening, so I understand the approach the schools are going with this. Having said that, I can see it from a students standpoint. It's a complete invasion of privacy to be nosing around their personal history on their computers. What they should do is just investagate, or monitor  a possible "suspect" and see what they are doing on the social media website. Because kids do publicly put out their information and photos that anyone in the world can see. It's they kids own faults if they get in trouble for it. As long as the post or photo has relavince to the school they should get some sort of punishment. So I see this from both sides, but I'm leaning towards my idea of monitoring the "suspects" and not everyone.

Opening Moment:

For my opening moment, I chose the very popular story going around the world right now and that is New York bikers. A few days ago, bikers chased an SUV driven by a terrified man who was trying to protect his wife and child. The bikers eventually caught up to him and dragged him out at a stop light to beat him up. New coverage of the story states that one of the bikers may have been trying to "save" the scared man. All of his chargers are dropped as of now. I fo

I found this very interesting because in the video filmed by one of the bikers via GoPro, you can clearly see that the man trying to "save" the driver was punching the back window of the SUV looking to cause harm. I don't know why all the charges were dropped on him because he looks equally responsible for the guy getting beat up.

If you want to check out the article for yourself, click the link down below. If you can, watch the GoPro footage filmed by one of the bikers. It's easily one of the scariest things I've ever seen.

Is Creativity Dead?

I think creativity isn't gone yet in the school system. At least I haven't noticed it here. School's nowadays seem to use technology to it's advantage like writing essays easier, and doing top notch research using the computer. Also, I've noticed that you get options to experiment with other options on how you learn something. Wether it's through doing the usual research in a book, or watching documentaries or reading stories about the topic you're learning about. Another thing that is fantastic that I've seen this school in particular do, is make your own film relating to a topic. That's easily one of the most creative thing someone can do in the school system because you have to figure out a way to make the film good, and insightful on your information. I've done a lot of film projects where I got to express myself creativily with other peers and we have fun doing them, and we do well on them. I understand that people can think that creativity is gone in the schools because we have laptops or iPads, but honestly, I think creativity is only expanding with the new technology.
